Darlene Cox, 81, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 8, 2012, at her home. She
was a retired security guard for Wackenhut/Memphis, Tenn. Services
were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 12 at Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel
in Hernando. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. She
leaves her husband, Jack Cox; five daughters, Shirley King (Tommy),
Jackie Baker (Phil), both of Holly Springs, Barbara Noel (Harry) of
Southaven, Mary Scroggins of North Little Rock, Ark., Nancy Kaminski of
Olive Branch; three sons, Jimmy Tharp of Holly Springs, Tony Cox of
Alabama, Johnny Cox of Forrest; and numerous grandchildren and

T. Deblock, 84, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 2, 2012, at Baptist DeSoto
Hospital in Southaven. She was Presbyterian, a real estate broker and a
writer. Services will be held at a later date. Holly Springs Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. She
leaves a son, Ronnie Deblock of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Bernice
Fink of Orange City, Fla.; three grandchildren and four

Belfour Douglas, 78, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Marshall County,
died Feb. 11, 2012, at her home. She was the widow of J.C. Pritchard
and Otis Douglas. She was a member of New Way of Living Baptist
Ministry of Collierville, Tenn., and a retired housekeeper with
Scottish Inn in Memphis. Services will be held at
11 a.m. on Feb. 18 at Mt. Newell MB Church in Red Banks, where she was
also a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Arthur
Fitzpatrick will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements. She leaves three
daughters, Olibbie Wilchie, Anna Pritchard, both of Memphis, Dorothy
Jean Crutcher of Collierville; five sons, Robert Pritchard, Willie
Pritchard, David Lee Pritchard, Arthur Miller Pritchard, Kenneth Lee
Pritchard, all of Memphis; two brothers, Robert Page Belfour, Daniel
Belfour, both of Memphis; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and
four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Pritchard. Emma Jean Gammon
Emma Jean Gammon, 74, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 7, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 11 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home
Chapel. Entombment was in Forest Hill South Mausoleum. She
leaves four children, Sharon Scoggins Luther, Kendall Coleman, Kory
Coleman, Kelly Jane Coleman Davis; a sister, Dorthy Parrette of
Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Leoda Carlock; and brother, Sterling Gammon. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Frank Hopkins
Frank
Hopkins, 85, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Feb. 8, 2012. He grew up in Holly
Springs, where he graduated from Holly High. Following a tour of duty
with the U.S. Army of Occupation in Japan, he studied at Vanderbilt
University, where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.
He received his master’s degree from Yale. He was employed by Sperry
(later Honeywell) Corporation as a control systems engineer in Great
Neck, N.Y., Huntsville, Ala. (under the auspices of NASA) and later in
Phoenix, Az. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of
Phoenix and sang with the Arizona State University Choral Union. A memorial service was held Feb. 11 in Phoenix. Burial will be held at a later date in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Helen Bell Hopkins; and two sons, Frank Jr. and Elliott. Blanch Mackson LeSueur

Mackson LeSueur, 56, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 7, 2012, at his home.
He was a graduate of Holly Springs High School and Rust College. He was
a member of Tabernacle of Prayer in Holly Springs, original member of
The Gospel Seekers singing group and a retired (1987) health inspector. Services
were held at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 at Christ Temple Church of God In
Christ in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden.
Superintendent Albert Pass officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements. He leaves a
son, Robert Norris Marion of Holly Springs; three sisters, Zora
LeSueur, Odessa LeSueur-Meeks, both of Holly Springs, Carol
LeSueur-Fulger of Memphis, Tenn.; and a brother, Nash LeSueur of Holly
Springs. He was preceeded in death by a brother, Blake LeSueur. Kenneth Glen Nelson Kenneth Glen Nelson, 54, of Arlington, Tenn., died Feb. 10, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. Graveside
services were held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 14 at Ashland Cemetery. Holly
Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves two brothers, Larry Nelson of Arlington, Terry Nelson of
Memphis, Tenn.; and two sisters, Linda Morrow of Oakland, Tenn., Nancy

Lawrence Washington, 98, of Collierville, Tenn., formerly of Holly
Springs, died Feb. 6, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Collierville. She
was a retired nurse’s assistant. She was a member of Mt. Nebo MB Church
in Memphis, Tenn. Services were held at 2:30 p.m.
on Feb. 11 at Rising Star MB Church. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery
Mid Town, Memphis, Tenn., Feb. 13. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements. He leaves her caregiver, Lillie M. Alford of Collierville; and a sister, Ruby Pegues of Holly Springs. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Lawrence Porter, Ada Lawrence Massey.
