SocietyCity Personals Congratulations MA Mock Trial teams and Jr. High BB teams Congtatulations to the Marshall Academy Mock Trial teams. They competed against teams from the area from much larger schools Saturday in Oxford. The competition consisted of two rounds, one morning and one afternoon. Both teams had the opportunity to present their cases from the prosecution side and the defense side. At the end of a long day, the awards were handed out. The top five teams advance to the state level, which is held in Jackson later this month. Marshall’s Team A advanced and Team B was chosen as the alternate team, which is a marvelous accomplishment for these fine young people and their coaches. Team B had never competed in a mock trial and is comprised of four freshmen and three juniors. The next two weeks will be tough on the teams, but the practices will show at their next competition! The Marshall Academy Junior Lady Patriots took second place in the AA District basketball tournament last weekend held at Indianola. Congratulations to these young ladies who played hard all season long! Andy Burleson, a senior at Marshall Academy, participated in the Batesville Sub-Deb Cotillion Club’s 2012 Winter Ball January 28 in Como. He escorted Callie Blake Masterson, a sophomore at North Delta School in Batesville.
