February 8

• Book Club Snow Lake area residents are forming a book club. Monthly discussions will be held in the meeting room of the Landscape Society, 2 p.m. For this meeting, please bring the titles of a few books you would like to read in the coming year.

February 9

• Alumni meeting Byhalia FFA alumni will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m., Byhalia High School ag classroom. All former FFA members and parents of FFA students are encouraged to attend.

February 10

• YOUTH VALENTINE’S GALA will be held 6-10 p.m. at the ZETA-Sigma Complex Building, for kindergarten through eighth grade. Contests, prizes and refreshments. Parents are welcome free of charge. Contact Kim, 662-544-0713; Pat, 901-292-0698; or Candice, 662-357-5305.

February 11

• Fish fry St. Jude Benefit Fish Fry will be held at Emory Independent Methodist Church from 5-8 p.m.The plates are $10 for adults, $5 for children and children 6 and under are free. The meal includes Pride of the Pond catfish, slaw, French fries, hush puppies, drink and homemade dessert. The Taylor Made band will perform during the meal. Come bring your friends and help raise money for the kids at St. Jude. Emory Independent Methodist Church is located on Holly Springs Rd., south of Byhalia near Watson.

• Benefit Program for Deacon George Cannon at Reid’s Gift M.B. Church in Potts Camp, 6 p.m. Everyone is welcomed.

• “Valentines Banquet” will be hosted by Friendship Assembly of God Children’s Super Church. Bring your spouse for a lovely evening of dining, entertainment, Christian music, with child care available, and door prizes, 6:30 p.m. If you would like to attend RSVP through the main church office at 662-838-4000 by February 6. • Scripture Cake program, Free Branch MB Church, 6 p.m. Several pastors and ministers will be speaking. Pastor J.L. Tunstall.

• BASKETBALL St. Mary’s/CADET/Holy Family Alumni basketball games will be held at Holy Family gym, 12 noon. Two games with Alumni vs. Holy Family Parents (male & female teams). All proceeds will be donated to the school by the Alumni Reunion Committee. Contact Clara Isom, principal, at 662-252-1612 if you are interested in playing or need additional info. • SINGING Marianna Baptist Church will host their second Saturday singing with The Master’s Quartet as featured guests. Food and fellowship will begin at 5 p.m. and singing at 6:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Still Standing will be the featured group in March.

• YARD SALE Red Banks Baptist Church will have churchwide yard sale beginning at 7 a.m. in the gym. All proceeds go to the church youth group.

• YARD SALE will be held at Ark of Safety Outreach Ministrires, Red Banks, 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lots of clothes, shoes, books, household items, furniture. Rain or shine.

February 12

• A Come As You Are program will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, 2:30 p.m. Rev. Etoy Bogard will be the guest speaker. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor, invites everyone.

• MUSICIAN PROGRAM Isaac Chapel CME will have their musician appreciation program for Eddie and Deborah Woods, 2 p.m. Many groups and choirs are invited. Rev. Willie Ward is host pastor.

• BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM will be held at Sunrise Chapter #166 Order of Eastern Star at the Waterford Lodge Hall, 2 p.m. Everyone is invited.

• Revival at Hopewell COGIC, beginning Feb. 13 and continuing through the week. Everyone is invited. There will be a guest evangelist. Pastor, Willie Johnson.

February 17

• Open Gym Night hosted by AfterShock Youth of Friendship Assembly of God, Victoria at 7 p.m. All youth and their friends are welcome, ages 13 to 25, for a night of basketball, games, refreshments or just hang out and have fun.

February 16

• BOARD MEETING The Holly Springs High School board meeting will be held February 16 in the library, 6 p.m.

February 18

• PRE-ANNIVERSARY Faithful Gospel Singers of New Albany will have a pre-anniversary program at Jones Grove Church, 7 p.m. There will be several groups and singers from around. M.C. will be Dave Glass. For more info. call Betty Raimey, 662-278-9388.

• Mexican-style Fellowship supper will be held in the fellowship hall of the Victoria United Methodist Church, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The community is invited.

• Free throw All boys and girls ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2012 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship, 11 a.m. at Holy Family School Gymnasium on West Street in Holly Springs. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. Information and entry forms have been sent to all area schools.
