Roy Billions had not attempted a field goal in a game all season. But he had confidence. So did his coach. The
senior kicker drilled a 24-yarder with 13 seconds left Friday night to
win a Class AA North State championship for Marshall Academy and set
off a huge celebration. The Patriots rallied from a 21-point deficit to

H.W. Byers Lady Lions and the Ashland Lady Blue Devils tipped it off on

Behind The Scoreboard By Claude Vinson Shakeup in the BCS This
season is no different than preceding years since the inception of the
BCS. Just days ago, the Oregon Ducks were rated as number one,
replacing the Crimson Tide. By game time in week 12 on Saturday, there
had been a flip and Kansas State was ranked one in the nation by the
BCS and Oregon was two. Notre Dame was rated three and remained that
way until they killed Wake Forest on Saturday. Albeit practically
assured a BCS bowl berth, the Irish are not really touted as a national

Indians beat Mustangs, Gators By BARRY BURLESON Editor The Byhalia Indians recorded their first two wins of the season over the weekend in the Lewisburg Invitational Tournament. Coach Todd Hutchinson’s team routed Strayhorn 79-39 and squeezed past Lake Cormorant 64-62. They improved to 2-4. Full Story
