regular November meeting of the board of trustees of the Holly Springs
School District has been scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 15. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Holly Springs High School library, 165 North Walthall Street. Early deadlines for next week’s edition The South Reporter announces early deadlines for next week’s edition due to Thanksgiving. All
deadlines for the Nov. 22 newspaper are set for this Friday, Nov. 16.
Deadline for classified ads is 12 noon and deadline for all other
advertising, including legal notices, and all news is 5 p.m. The
South Reporter will be printed a day earlier than normal next week. It
will be available from racks and vendors on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Local
subscribers will receive it in the mail on Wednesday, Nov. 21. The South Reporter office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, and reopen Friday, Nov. 23, at 8 a.m. “We hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving,” said publisher Barry Burleson. Byhalia holiday parade slated for December 8 The Town of Byhalia has scheduled its Christmas parade for Saturday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. If
you would like to be a part of the “Byhalia Believes” Christmas Parade,
call the Byhalia Town Hall (838-2135) no later than December 3. Also,
Friday, Nov. 30, is the Byhalia tree and lighting ceremony, including
visits with Santa. It starts at 6:30 p.m. in Brunswick Gazebo Park. Byhalia police officers respond to 29 calls The Byhalia Police Department responded to 29 calls last week. Chief
Gary Looney released the following report – alarm calls, 4;
miscellaneous, 3; escorts, 2; juveniles, 1; disturbances, 3; animals,
1; assists, 1; motor vehicle accidents, 4; fires, 3; and medical, 7. Officers made three arrests last week.
