Lesson in cooperation
There’s a lot to like about Marshall County, particularly when it comes to our young people.
Friday night, as I was arriving at Marshall Academy to take photos at the football game, a fan from Kirk Academy was walking through the gate.
Close to Nowhere
Six hundred slices of pizza
How long will 600 slices of pizza last? Just about two hours when you have a crowd the size of the one at the CrossPointe Christian Fellowship fall festival Saturday.
If you didn’t have anything to do this past Saturday, it wasn’t because you couldn’t find a fall festival somewhere. There were six listed in The South Reporter calendar and I’d imagine a few more festivals were scattered here and there in our area.
The Preacher’s Corner
Take it from one who knows — don’t speed on Hwy. 7 S
Getting speeding tickets is something nobody wishes to admit, especially preachers. But except for the elderly lady in my hometown who was famous for driving her blue Ford Fairlane at 10 miles per hour, I think we all have exceeded the limit at some point or another. I figure that has happened to me so many times that even if I did not deserve the ticket at the precise moment I was spotted, I deserved it for some other occasion when the patrolman was not watching.
Letters to The Editor
Vote next Tuesday
Please vote on November 6! Don’t let anyone tell you that you cannot vote, unless it is the voter registrar himself. That law about having to have a picture ID to vote, doesn’t even apply in this election, so don’t worry about that. If you are a registered voter, you can and should vote. Don’t even let someone in your family try to convince you not to vote, as happened to my mother.
