Cards ease past Buccaneers

The outcome Friday night at Potts Camp was determined quickly.

The high-flying Cardinals got four touchdowns and two safeties in the first quarter to go up 31-0 on Benton County.

Indians pound Palmer; big game awaits

Byhalia left its mark in Marks Friday night, and next up is one of the biggest games ever in Indian territory.

Coach John Danley’s team punished M.S. Palmer 48-6 last week. This Friday, the Indians will host a Region 3-3A showdown against North Panola for second place in the district. Both are guaranteed state playoff berths, but the winner will host a first-round game on Friday, Nov. 2.

Late night in Delta no problem for MA

A power failure Friday night in the Delta only stalled the obvious.

Class AA Marshall Academy, basically in control throughout, left Class AAA Pillow Academy an hour and a half later than expected with a 27-6 win.

Hawks fall short; playoff berth on line this week

The Belmont Cardinals, another division foe of Holly Springs, invaded Sam Coopwood Field Friday night with the intent of solidifying a high playoff spot in Region 1-3A.

Coach Chris Rankin’s Hawks were also trying to nail down a post-season spot.
