Indians take district thriller

Coach John Danley listened to his big boys Friday night and it paid off.

Facing two fourth and threes and a fourth and four in the final quarter, Byhalia went for and made first downs all three times and celebrated a huge 23-20 district win over Winona.

Lions rally for win

The H.W. Byers Lions hosted district foe Thrasher for their homecoming and the fireworks started prior to the kickoff. The Byers complex was lit up with an impressive fireworks display.

And in the fourth quarter, the home team provided the fireworks, coming from behind for a 22-6 victory.

The Holly Springs football team goes into the last two games of the regular season in a must-win situation.

The Hawks fell 39-7 to Booneville last Friday at home and went to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in Region 1-3A.

Everyone is getting in the swing of having a new coach, Charles Sisk. He is busy getting everyone in shape and ready to run. The Cardinals and Lady Cardinals have had several meets and everyone is progressing every day.
