Obituaries Doyle Day
Doyle Vance Day, 80, died Oct. 10,
2012, at his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired
school teacher having taught in Alabama and Georgia. He was a member of
the Cornersville Baptist Church. Services were
held at 12 noon on Oct. 13 at the United Funeral Service Chapel. Burial
was in Cornersville Cemetery. Rev. Malcolm Brock officiated. He
leaves his son, Doyle Vance Day Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters,
Kathleen Boman (Wayne) and Alta Faye Lawrence (Richard), both of New
Albany; and a brother, Lonnie Day Jr. (Wylena) of Pensacola, Fla. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dairel Day, Gaylon Day and Qunion Day. Freddy O. Glover Sr. Freddy O. Glover Sr., 55, of Ashland, died Oct. 14, 2012, at Alliance HealthCare. He was a Baptist and an Exxon dealer. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 at his home. Holly Springs Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. He
leaves his wife, Juliana Glover; a son, Freddy Glover Jr. of Potts
Camp; his mother, Freddie Woodard of Holly Springs; a sister, Carlene

Jean Skelton, 68, of Saltillo, died Oct. 13, 2012, at her home. She
worked for more than 20 years with Wurlitzer Piano Co. in Holly
Springs. Later, she worked for more than 20 years as a photographer
with PCA Studios in Wal-Mart on North Gloster. Services
were held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 16 at Mayfield Church of Christ, where she
was a longtime member. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. in
Ashland Church of Christ Cemetery. Minister Adam Miller officiated.
W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements. She
leaves two sons, Stephen C. Skelton (Chris) of Holly Springs, Michael
E. Skelton (Kerri) of Saltillo; a brother, Don Jordan of Augusta, Ga.;
and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Alton, Raybon, Gary and Lanny Jordan.
