City police go to 103 calls Holly Springs police officers responded to 103 calls last week, chief William Hollowell said. They
included disturbances, 9; alarms, 12; larcenies, 2; assaults, 3;
burglaries, 3; accidents, 6; assists to agencies, 2; funeral escorts,
2; domestics, 7; 911 hang-ups, 1; shots fired, 2; robbery, 1; auto
theft, 1; malicious mischief, 1; checks on disabled, 2; and 49
miscellaneous calls. The dog catcher responded to 17 calls. Incident reports included: Monday, Oct. 8 • leaving the scene of an accident in the area of West Van Dorn/Craft Street. Wednesday, Oct. 10 • shoplifting in the 100 block of W. College Avenue. A juvenile was arrested. • domestic dispute in the 400 block of Craft Street. Thursday, Oct. 11 • disorderly conduct when officers came to the scene of a domestic dispute in the 100 block of S. Chesterman. • harassment in the 300 block of West Street. Friday, Oct. 12 • domestic violence/simple assault in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive. An arrest was made. • assault on a juvenile in the 200 block of West Valley Avenue. Charges were filed. • assault in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Drive. Saturday, Oct. 13 • several commercial burglaries in the 800 block of Highway 7 North. Sunday, Oct. 14 • malicious mischief in the 300 block of West Street. Officers
reported the following citations – no proof of liability insurance, 1;
speeding, 1; disregard for traffic device, 1; reckless driving, 1;
no/expired tag, 2; improper turn, 1; and no tail lights, 1. Misdemeanor
arrests included – contempt of court, 5; possession of marijuana in a
vehicle/littering, 1; domestic violence/simple assault, 1; disorderly
conduct, 2; shoplifting, 1; juvenile shoplifting, 1; no/expired
driver’s license/no proof of liability insurance, 2; and driving while
license suspended/DUI 1st, 1.
