ObituariesNellie Margaret Barbour Nellie Margaret Barbour, 75, of Byhalia, died Oct. 3, 2012, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery. She
leaves two daughters, Ann Floyd (Edward) and Lori Coopwood (James),
both of Byhalia; three sons, Walter Barbour (Joy) of Coldwater, Bailey
Barbour (Jackie) of Byhalia, Marvin Barbour (Lisa) of Olive Branch;
three sisters, Maxine Flinn of Byhalia, Kathryn Umberger (O.L.) of
Coldwater, Loretta Winders (Wilson) of Byhalia; three brothers,
Benjamin Ward (Louise) of Coldwater, Cletus Ward (Brenda) of Senatobia,
Calvin Ward (Becky) of Middleton, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
a daughter, Rita Weir; three brothers, Marvin Ward, Drew Ward and Percy
Ward; two sisters, Mary Lois Darnell and Joyce Clifton; a grandson
Walter Anthony Barbour Jr. and a granddaughter, Laura Pearson. Pallbearers
were grandsons Judd Akins, Cameron Jones, Bradley Barbour, Noah
Barbour, Mark Fleming, Colton Lindsey and Justin Coopwood.
Eldon Freeman Garner Eldon
Freeman Garner, 82, of Holly Springs, died Oct. 6, 2012, at Ashland
Health and Rehab. He was a Baptist, an insurance claims agent and an
Army veteran of Korea. Services were held at 11
a.m. on Oct. 9 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill
Crest Cemetery. Bro. John Parker officiated. He
leaves two sons, Blair Garner (Michelle) of Nebraska City, Neb., Bart
Garner (Louisa) of Waterford; a daughter, Rhonda Smith (Steve) of
Waterford; a brother, Bobby Garner of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters,
Barbara Carrington of Paris, Tenn., Debra Flowers of Atoka, Tenn.,
Renee Cook of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren and six

Earnest E. Hunt Earnest
E. “Sonny” Hunt, 84, of Ashland, died Oct. 4, 2012, at North MS Medical
Center in Tupelo. He was a member of Medlock Methodist Church and a
carpenter. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 7
at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery.
Bro. Gene Coltharp officiated. He leaves his
wife, Mary Hunt; a son, James Hunt (Mavis) of Walnut; a daughter,
Dorothy Barkley of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Linda Curle (Jimmy) of
Ripley; a sister, Dorothy Lyons of Wiggins; seven grandchildren and

Barney F. Kamerzink Barney
F. Kamerzink, 67, died Sept. 28, 2012. He attended Memphis City Schools
and was employed with Milan Express for more than 15 years. He was a
member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Services were
held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 3 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was
in Byhalia Cemetery. Pastor James Wolfe officiated. He
leaves his wife, Pat Kamerzink; a son, Michael Amsden (Carla) of Mt.
Pleasant; daughters Debra Quinn (David) of Atoka, Tenn., Stacey Boatner
of Red Banks, Becky Burks (Jason) of Hughes, Ark., Sheila Adrien of
West Memphis, Ark.; brothers Robert Kamerzink of Bartlett, Tenn, Tenn.,
Chris Kamerzink of Horn Lake; 17 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Randy Hood,
Joseph Miller, Brandon Kamerzink, Robert “Bobby” Huber, David
Kamerzink, Daniel Kamerzink, Chad Kamerzink and Jason Kamerzink.
Honorary pallbearers were Darryl Kamerzink, Chris Kamerzink and Shawn
Kamerzink. He was preceded in death by a brother Roy Kamerzink and a son-in-law, Jimmy Boatner.
Michael Carlisle Moore Michael
Carlisle Moore, 63, passed away September 15, 2012, at his home in
Torrance, California. He was a retired technical instructor for Honda
Motors. A private memorial service for family and friends was held on September 29, 2012, in Redondo Beach, Calif. He
leaves two sisters, Dr. Jean Moore Ashmore of Jackson, Tenn., Janis
Moore Greene, of Holly Springs; and a nephew, Sean Michael White, of

Edd Benjamin Sanders Edd
Benjamin Sanders, 74, of Potts Camp, died Oct. 3, 2012, at his home. He
was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, a trim carpenter and an
Army veteran. Services were held at 11 a.m. on
Oct. 5 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Stone
Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Wilbanks officiated. He
leaves his wife, Diane Sanders; four sons, Randy Sanders, Gene Sanders,
Billy Sanders, all of Potts Camp, Brent Sanders of Waterford; a sister,
Brenda Henderson of Potts Camp; nine grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren. Timothy Sims
Timothy
Sims, 80, died Sept. 30, 2012. He was a former member of Isom Chapel
and Calvin Chapel. He was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service. Services
were held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 4 at New Dimension Salt and Light
Ministries in Holly Springs. Burial was in Charity Hill Cemetery in
Lake Center. Actavatis A. Allen, host pastor, was the eulogist. Rev. Ed
Moses officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves his wife of 58 years, Nonnie “Baby” Sims; six children Clara
(Benjamin) Mayes of Olive Branch, Carolyn (Michael) Thomas of
Fayetteville, N.C., Lenora (Wayne) Jefferson of Waterford, Leon (Debra
“Hun”) Sims of Lake Center, Elaine (Lee Ernest “Unt”) Watson of Potts
Camp, Mary “Momma Yackie” Sims of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Josephine
Wilson of Byhalia; 40 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his oldest son, Edgar; four brothers; two
sisters; one granddaughter, Kearsha Brown; and one great-grandson,
Tanner Arin Mayes. Pallbearers were Benjamin
Mayes, Michael Thomas, Wayne Jefferson, Leon Sims, Lee E. Watson;
active pallbearers were grandsons Daniel “Cree” Dangerfield, Seunti
“Decum” Watson, Zaphetreaun “Ten” Watson, Trevor Mayes, Thaddeus “Sad”
Jefferson, Christopher “Mann” Sims and Bravontee “Pop Pop” Watson.
Honorary pallbearers were great-grandsons Michael Sims and Cameron Sims.
