Indians let lead slip away in fourth By BARRY BURLESON Editor Byhalia put a scare into the defending Class 3A state champion Friday night. The
Indians led Charleston 15-12 in the fourth quarter but gave up two late
scores and fell 28-15. Byhalia goes to 3-4 overall and 0-1 in Region
3-3A. The Tigers are 6-1 and 1-0. Full Story
Pats fall to rivals By BARRY BURLESON Editor It was an intense game between district rivals that had it all. Unfortunately
for Marshall Academy, the visitors from Batesville came up with the
biggest plays with the outcome on the line in the fourth period. MA
lost 35-27 to the North Delta Green Waves in a contest that likely
decided the District 1-AA championship. Full Story

it is virtually impossible to be one dimensional after such a weekend
as we have just experienced, and it is not necessarily sports which we
are primarily referring to. With a backdrop of a “tell all” book
released by “The Terminator” to the flame out at the Ryder Cup, there

Hawks drop district opener By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The
Tigers of Ripley came to town last Friday evening with glowing retinue.
Their season record (3-3) matched that of their host and this would be
the first district match for both. They were
first over the ball and set up shop at the 40. With a pair of
penalties, they made it to the 25. Cody James, the Tigers’ signal
caller, flung an aerial which was caught in the end zone by Isaih
Howard, who had pushed off the defender, and instead of a TD it was
fourth down. The Hawks took over at the 40. Full Story
