Last week was indeed a successful one for the Marshall Academy softball team. The
Lady Patriots won their first District 1-AA championship since 2008.
They then advanced to the finals of the winners’ bracket in the North
AA Tournament, which continued Monday of this week. Full Story

Patriots win 28-6; big game awaits By BARRY BURLESON Editor A pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns put the win on ice for Marshall Academy Friday night at Indianola. Clinging
to a slim 13-6 lead entering the final period, MA got a score on the
ground from Zack Pritchett and one through the air from Dakota Dailey
to Randy Love. The final was 28-6 as the Patriots moved to 5-1 overall

Cardinals 4-1 after win over Wolves By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The
Potts Camp Cardinals were at home for a second consecutive week Friday
night and cruised past the Wolves of Rossville Academy out of Tennessee. The
visitors had the ball first and they went three and out when Jarvis
Jones of the Cardinals stepped into an aerial by Tinsley Heston of

Soccer team falls Coach Lance McGregor said his Marshall Academy soccer team “played soft” at Indianola last week and the result was a 13-2 loss. “I was really disappointed with the effort out of the team,” he said. “We are better than that. Full Story
Byers Lions come up short in offensive shootout By BARRY BURLESON Editor H.W. Byers and Vardaman combined for 98 points Friday night in a Region 1-1A battle. “It was a shootout,” said James Kimbrough, head coach of the Lions. “Unfortunately, we didn’t have the last bullet in the gun.” Full Story
