Holly Springs High School is celebrating a record-setting step up the academic ladder. For the first time ever, the school is ranked High Performing, based on state tests students took last year. It is the second highest of seven levels as assigned by the Mississippi Department of Education.
Father, son face murder charges By SUE WATSON One man died from stabbing and other injuries and another was wounded by gunshot over the weekend, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson. He said officers were called to 168 Hurdle Club Road Saturday at about 11:35 p.m. to find one man lying in the driveway with multiple stab wounds and a second victim inside the house with shotgun wounds. Communicare reports service record By SUE WATSON Sandy Rogers, executive director of Communicare (Region 2), recently reported to the Marshall County Board of Supervisors on activity for the last year. The county contributes about $46,000 annually to Communicare’s six-county budget of $7.8 million, she said.
