One
of the perennial rivalries was taken up once again Friday night when
Byhalia hosted Holly Springs for supremacy between 3A Marshall County
teams.
The
Indians were over the ball first with
Markeise Rodgers under center after a decent return by Andrey Collins.
The offense stalled, however, so they had to punt on fourth and 15.
There was no working clock due to an electrical malfunction, so time

Marshall Academy Lady Patriots, Macie McClure and Megan Watkins, were
honored on Senior Day Tuesday of last week. Team members are (front,

The Marshall Academy softball team picked up another district win last week and then won two of three in the Carroll Tournament. MA 12 Indianola 6 Marshall
shut Indianola Academy down in the top of the first and then answered
with 10 runs in the bottom of the first to push the game out of reach. Full Story
Patriots drop first of season to Colts By BARRY BURLESON Editor The second half Friday night at Clarksdale started on a sour note for Marshall Academy and did not get any better. The
Class AA Patriots gave up a kickoff return for a touchdown to begin the
third quarter and followed that with two second-half turnovers. They
lost their first game of the season, 16-7, to Class AAA Lee Academy. Full Story
Behind The Scoreboard By Claude Vinson Interesting weekend in NFL I
am not going to be trite by using the old cliché, “This was the
week(end) that was,” but the NFL got a chance to try out its latest new
rule. The “sudden death” overtime has met a, well, sudden death. Now
