Candidates qualify for school board seats The two Marshall County School Board races on the November 6 ballot will each feature two candidates. Qualifying deadline was Friday of last week. Neither Felicia Harvell (District 3) or Queen Dean (District 4) are seeking re-election. Running for the District 3 school board seat will be Rebecca Podewils and Janice Wagg. Seeking the District 4 school board position will be Daniel Ables and Lakisha Dean Peterson. School
board lines are not the same as county supervisor lines, according to
circuit clerk Lucy Carpenter, so if there are questions about voting,
call her office at 252-3434. Homecoming this week for Holly High, Byhalia It’s
homecoming week for Holly Springs High School. The annual parade will
be held Thursday at 5 p.m. The homecoming game is Friday night at 7:30
at Sam Coopwood Park. Byhalia will also play its homecoming game Friday. Courts at HSHS and BHS will be presented at halftime.
