Indians ‘give ball away’ in setback By BARRY BURLESON Editor The Byhalia Indians got bit by the turnover bug Friday night in their home opener. They gave the ball away six times and fell 21-14 to Senatobia. “We
beat ourselves,” coach John Danley told his squad, huddled around him
at midfield after the game. “Six turnovers – you can’t win like that.

Hawks sting Hornets By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The Holly High Hawks rallied in the fourth quarter Friday night at Sam Coopwood Park to snatch their first win of the season. The
Class 2A J.F. Kennedy Hornets were set to receive the ball first when
William Talley teed it for an onside kick for the 3A Hawks. It traveled
the legal distance and was covered by Holly High at the 41. Ronnell
Boyland was calling signals for the Hawks. They were stopped twice with
no gain at the line of scrimmage. The try for a fourth conversion was

MA Lady Patriots keep on winning The Marshall Academy softball squad moved to the top of the District 1-AA standings last week. The
Lady Patriots improved to 4-0 in the conference with wins over Carroll
and Kirk and also downed Class AAA Magnolia Heights for a 15-1 overall

is a reader of this column up in Sturgis, South Dakota, and his name is
Tre. He is a former U.S. Air Force member and his spouse is still
serving at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. Ellsworth is located at Rapid City and
is home to the 28th Bomb Wing, 34th Bomb Squadron and 37th Bomb
Squadron (SAC). Tre has been there five years. Hang in there, Tre; I
spent four years in North Dakota one week. Why do I know a Tre in South
