• Four face felony charges
Holly
Springs police officers responded to 94 calls last week, according to
interim police chief Lt. John Norman.
Calls
included – disturbances, 5; alarms, 15; larcenies, 5; accidents, 4;
assists to agencies, 5; assaults, 1; burglaries, 2; funeral escorts, 4;
domestics, 4; 911 hang-ups, 2; malicious mischief, 3; auto burglaries,
6; and 38 miscellaneous calls. The dog catcher took 16 calls.

simple assault on a correctional officer in the 800 block of West
Street.
•
commercial burglary in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Drive.
•
auto burglary in the 100 block of West Van Dorn Avenue.
•
simple assault in the Highway 7 South and Highway 78 area.

simple assault on a correctional officer in the 800 block of West

robbery in the 500 block of Craft Street.
Officers
made four felony arrests.
•
Robert Lee Lesure, 69, of the 500 block of South Center Street, was
arrested and charged with simple assault on a police officer, resisting
arrest and public drunk, Norman said.
•
Thomas
Parker, 32, of the 800 block of West Street, was arrested and charged
with simple assault on a correctional employee and possession of
contraband in a correctional facility, Norman said.
•
Telvondus Milan, 28, of the 1000 block of North Mullins Road, Byhalia,
was arrested and charged with felony fleeing, resisting arrest, driving
while license suspended and two counts of running a stop sign, Norman
said.
•
Anton Foster, 26, of the 800 block of
West Street, was arrested and charged with simple assault on a
correctional officer, Norman said.
Officers
reported the following citations – no/expired tag, 1; and disregard for
traffic device, 1.
The
following misdemeanor arrests were made - contempt of court, 3; simple
assault, 3; and public drunk, 1.
The
Holly Springs Police Department is assisting homeowners with crime
prevention by inscribing numbers and markings on items to identify the
owners of the items and by recording serial numbers. For more

Tip
of the week
Install
a single cylinder dead-bold lock on all exterior doors. Bolts should be
a minimum of one-inch throw. Strike plates should have screws that are
at least three-inches long. Doors should be solid hardwood or metal
clad. Hinges should be located on the inside or have non-removable
pins.
