One suspect charged in stabbing
By SUE WATSON
Marshall County deputies have made an arrest in a late July stabbing incident, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
He said deputies and investigators called to the 1600 block of Cayce Road around 10:50 p.m. Saturday, July 28, found a victim with a stab wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital, the sheriff said.
Witnesses at the scene of the incident identified a suspect as Jessie Rayford, 58, of the 2200 block of Rabbit Ridge Road, he said.
Rayford was later taken into custody by patrolling deputies and investigators and charged with aggravated assault.
He was later released on $50,000 bond set by justice court judge Mae Garrison.
Missing girl found
A 6-year-old girl, on an outing with a large group of family members at Wall Doxey State Park Sunday around 4 p.m., wandered from the group and was lost, according to the sheriff.
He said when the group arrived back at the point of departure, the girl was missed, and a search of about 30 to 40 minutes around the walking trail at the lake was successful in locating the missing child.
The child reported having wandered away from the group and gotten lost in the wooded area near the trail.
