Obituaries Walker Byrd Sr.
Walker Byrd Sr., 78, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 8, 2012, in Olive Branch. He was Pentecostal, a truck driver and a veteran. Services
were held at 4 p.m. on Aug. 11 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated. He
leaves two sons, Walker Byrd Jr. (Sara) of Olive Branch, Tommy Byrd of
Lewisburg; three daughters, Audrey Modares of Southaven, Kathy Cothern
of Holly Springs, Katie Lobsinger of Southaven; 11 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by grandchildren Jonathan Cothern, Jack Byrd and Destiny Byrd. Pallbearers
were Tim Cothern, Tommy Byrd Jr., David Looney, Stephen Norman, Jack
Destin Byrd, Justin Mensi, Ronnie Bolden and Joe Byrd. Honorary

Ralph Loftin Sr., 85, died Aug. 12, 2012, at Baptist Trinity Hospice
House in Collierville, Tenn. He was a farmer with Bryce Corp. Services

“Wink” Howell, 55, of Potts Camp, died Aug. 6, 2012, at North
Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of Reid’s Gift MB
Church in Potts Camp and a factory worker with Ashley Furniture Company
in Ecru. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 11
at Potts Camp School’s gym. Burial was in St. Mary’s United Methodist
Church Cemetery in Potts Camp. Evangelist Dr. Bessie Tables officiated.

Mountain, James Howard Marion of Holly Springs; and two grandchildren. Timothy O’Neal Key Timothy “Tim-Tim” O’Neal Key, 30, of Oxford, died Aug. 6, 2012, in Water Valley. He was a native of Lafayette County. Services
were held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 11 at East St. Peters MB Church in Oxford.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. William Woods officiated.

Mae Jones Tate, 58, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 4, 2012, at Baptist
Trinity Hospice House in Colliervile, Tenn. She was a member of Mt.
Olive #2 MB Church in Collierville, Tenn., president of Pastor’s Aide,
a Sunday school teacher and supervisor of Kroger in Collierville. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 11 at Chulahoma MB Church in Holly
Springs. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Joe Nathan Wiley

Yarborough McGroom, 69, of Ashland, died July 31, 2012, at Baptist
DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. She was the widow of Russell McGroom and
a dietician. Services were held at 11 a.m. on
Aug. 3 at Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in
