Dog Days of Summer 2012 was a big success.
The annual silent auction to benefit the Marshall County Humane Society was held Friday night at the VFW in Holly Springs.
“We sold 138 tickets and after paying all expenses, we will have made over $6,500 to benefit a few of the homeless and needy animals of Marshall County,” said event chairman Jeanine Kahrs. “This fund will keep us going for another 10 to 12 months. There are always many more in need than we have volunteer staff and facility to handle, but at least we can help those few.”
She said the event, which also included entertainment, wine tasting and food was enjoyed by everyone.
“Thanks to Shannon McNally and band for the great music, Sharleen Larimer, who provided our wine tasting table, Tyler Clancy for delicious food, and Doris Pearce, who handled the Humane Society’s share of the food prepared.
“We also thank the many businesses who contributed items for auction and made monetary contributions. We could not have done it without them.”
