Day two in Milwaukee
I’d never been to Milwaukee, Wisc., before. And I’d forgotten it was home to one of my favorite shows from my younger years, “Happy Days.”
I was reminded shortly after our arrival, when we decided to do some sightseeing prior to the baseball game.
Close to Nowhere
Third time a charm?
Sunday afternoon I took daughter Dana to the emergency room to have her face stitched up. She’s had a broken face many times and stitches three times. The first time, as a senior in high school, our cat Hobbs jumped on her and scared her into cracking her eyebrow open on the fish tank. Dr. Hammack stitched that up beautifully and we avoided the emergency room trip.

My family moved to Hudsonville when I was 3 years old, 65 years ago. I have lived and made a living farming along Hwy. 313 ever since. There are many family farms in Hudsonville that have been in their families for 100 years or more, with some members of their families still living and farming this land.
