Primary kindergarten orientation

The Holly Springs Primary School will hold kindergarten orientation Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Primary School. Parents will be introduced to their child’s teacher and will be given information on what the students will be doing this year. The parents and students will go to their individual classrooms and the teacher will explain school and classroom expectations and procedures. The teachers are asking parents to bring the student’s school supplies to orientation. The kindergarten supply list can be picked up in the school office. The Primary School kindergarten staff is looking forward to meeting all kindergarten students and parents. If you have any questions, please call the school at 252-1768.

Registration set for new Byers students

Returning incoming seventh graders at H.W. Byers School will have to bring their up-to-date Mississippi 121 form including new immunizations in order to be registered for school.

Students new to Byers and returning incoming seventh graders will have registration on Thursday, August 2, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday, August 3, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Students new to Byers, including those from Head Start, need to have current Mississippi 121 forms from the health department, Social Security card and birth certificate. Students first–eighth grades need their last report card from their former school. Ninth–12th graders will need their transcripts in addition to their last report cards.

Parents of students new to Byers schools will need to present a current rent, lease, or mortgage and a current electricity bill, gas, water or garbage bill in the parent’s name and showing their 911 address. For questions, call 662-851-7826 and ask for Ms. Spaulding, the school counselor.

In addition, kindergarten students and their parents are invited to an open house to meet their teacher on Monday, August 6, at 6 p.m.
