• PARENT AND COMMUNITY SEMINAR will be held at Byhalia High School, 6-7 p.m., in the school cafeteria. The purpose of the meeting is introduction of faculty and administration, Title I information, subject-area testing information, and the schoolwide plan.

August 3

• THE PROPHETESS will be back at Community Temple, 1331 Mt. Zion Road., Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. Host pastor is Frank Moore.

• Dog Days of Summer - 2012 Auction for the Marshall County Humane Society will be held at the VFW in Holly Springs, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Bids will end at 8 p.m. $12 at the door includes door prizes and food.

• It’s cool to be in school bash, Fri., Aug. 3, at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building, 3-6 p.m. Come out and celebrate the opening of the school year.

• SCHOLARSHIP BANQUET Chulahoma Lodge and Daughters of Jephthah #167 will honor scholarship recipients August 4, at the Infinity Career College (old Care Inn building) located at 960 Hwy. 4 East at 5 p.m. Donation at the door.
