Lady Cardinals rout Lewisburg

Potts Camp teams went one for four last week, as the Lady Cardinals claimed a homecoming night win over Lewisburg.
They started the week with a pair of losses at North Pontotoc on Tuesday.
The Lady Cards were down by 13 at halftime but made a game out of it in the second half before dropping a nail-biter, 60-56.
Potts Camp outscored North Pontotoc 23-12 in the third period and cut its deficit to two to start the fourth quarter.
Powering the Lady Cards’ offense in a four-point loss were Tenesha Woods with 18, Jessica Peterson with 15 and Zana Davis with 13.
The Potts Camp boys lost 64-41 at North Pontotoc.
They were down 14-8 after one quarter, but the home team outscored the Cardinals 23-10 in the second period.
Top scorers for Potts Camp were Lajohn Curry, Jordan Harris and Brantley Harris, each with 10.
After the homecoming court was presented Friday night, the Class 2A Lady Cardinals had no trouble with 4A Lewisburg. They rolled to a 63-27 win, upping their season mark to 11-10.
Coach Tana Miller’s girls were in control 35-17 at the intermission.
Woods continued to scorch the nets. She had 26. Brittany Pitts and Jessica Peterson had 11 and 10, respectively.
The Potts Camp boys fell to Lewisburg in the nightcap. No other information was available.
The Lady Cardinals and Cardinals hosted Bruce Tuesday. They go to Strayhorn Friday.
