Holly Springs police respond to 46 calls
Holly Springs police officers responded to 46 calls for the week ending January 13, according to chief James Dean. The report was released Friday in order to accommodate an early deadline by the newspaper.
The following calls were reported – disturbances, 2; alarms, 11; larcenies, 2; accidents, 3; agency assists, 2; funeral assistance, 2; domestic, 3; 911 hang-ups, 1; and 20 miscellaneous calls. The dog catcher answered four calls.
Officers took the following reports:
Monday, Jan. 9
• shoplifting in the 400 block of Craft Street.
Tuesday, Jan. 10
• shoplifting in the 900 block of Mackie Drive.
• phone harassment in the 800 block of Ridge Cove.
Wednesday, Jan. 11
• grand larceny in the 900 block of Mackie Drive.
Officers reported the following citations – no proof of insurance, 4; disregard of traffic device, 3; careless driving, 1; speeding, 8.
Officers made the following misdemeanor arrests - driving while license suspended/no proof of insurance/speeding, 2; driving while licenses suspended/speeding, 2; DUI refusal/disregard for traffic device/open container, 1; domestic violence/simple assault, 1; contempt of court, 2; profanity in a public place, 1; trespassing/public drunk, 1.
