Ex-bank officer faces charges
Former bank officer Deborah Shaw faces up to 90 years in prison if she’s convicted on three federal embezzlement charges.
Shaw, of Waterford in Marshall County, is accused of stealing $234,646.90 from Merchants & Farmers Bank of Holly Springs, where she was an officer.
Her indictment dated June 27, but made public Monday, alleges she embezzled the funds from Dec. 28, 2005, until March 31, 2011, from three different accounts and deposited them into accounts she owned or controlled.
Monday, she made an initial appearance in Oxford before Magistrate Judge S. Allan Alexander, who set her unsecured bond at $10,000.
Formal charges will be read to her at a 10 a.m. hearing Thursday.
