Tournament title game
Tyson’s Elite from Holly Springs and the Dazzlers of Hickory Flat played for the 12-and-under postseason softball tournament championship. Tyson’s took the crown and finished undefeated this season in Marshall County Dizzy Dean play.
Patriots shine at camp

A glittering 14-1 record at the recent MRA Basketball Camp has coach Craig Dailey anticipating more success for his Marshall Academy Patriots.
The Pats had several quality wins, including Jackson Prep, East Rankin, Brookhaven, Pillow and Canton.
Northwest athletic facilities continue to receive facelift

If you’ve been on the Senatobia campus in the past year, you may have noticed several changes to the athletic facilities. The best news is, there are more upgrades on the way.

A new competitive youth baseball team was formed in Marshall County this year.
Most of the Mid-South Storm team members came from Marshall County’s 6- year-old Dizzy Dean program from the previous year. This team was formed to provide a more advanced level of play for some of the best youth baseball players in Marshall County and the surrounding area, according to coach Rodney Robinson.
Tournament this Friday at Kirkwood
The annual Rust College Alumni and Friends Celebrity Golf Classic is drawing near but there’s still time for teams to sign up.
The tournament will be held at Kirkwood National Golf Club in Holly Springs on Friday, July 13.
Boating safety class July 14
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks will have a boating safety class on July 14 at the Marshall County Fairgrounds.
The class is scheduled from 8 a.m. until this Saturday.
Anyone born after June 30, 1980, must have completed a boating safety class in order to operate a boat on public water.
To register, contact the North Region office in Tupelo at 662-840-5172. You must bring your Social Security number and current mailing address.
