Clifton Coopwood, 55, of Mt. Pleasant, died June 19, 2012. He was
Methodist and a mechanic. He was a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant
and a member of the St. Luke Outreach Ministries. Services

Lee Edwards, 95, of Red Banks, died June 20, 2012, at Baptist
Collierville Hospital. He was the widow of Minnie Smith Edwards. He was
a member of Carey Chapel Church and a farmer. Services

Jesse L. Jackson, 78, of Holly Springs, died June
25, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. A member of Gray’s
Chapel Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher. A retired
educator, he began teaching in 1958, teaching in Tate County and the
Holly Springs School system until he retired in 2000. He was named
Teacher of the Year several times. He was a member of the Mississippi
High School Activities Association, Marshall County Retired Teachers
Association, Phi Beta Sigma, and Phi Delta Kappa honor society. He also
worked at Russell’s Barber Shop, for 60 years. A former Boy Scout
leader, he was a baseball coach and a sports official. He attended
elementary school in Tate County, high school and college at M.I.
College in Holly Springs and received his master’s at the University of
Mississippi. Visitation will be June 29, 2-7 p.m. at the funeral
home, with family receiving from 6-7 and June 30, from 10-10:55 a.m. at
Doxey Auditorium. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 30 at
Doxey Auditorium on the Rust College campus. Burial will be in Gray’s

(Effie), Robert (Mary), and Wilson (Brenda) Jackson and 11
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Jackson and a sister, Vernice Brooks. Mary Frances Jarrett Mary Frances Jarrett, 82, of Potts Camp, died June 22, 2012. She was a teacher and a homemaker. Services

Mae McKinney, 57, of Tulsa, Okla, formerly of Aurora, Ill., and Holly
Springs, died June 13, 2012, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She
was a homemaker. Services were held at 11 a.m. on
June 23 at Union Valley MB Church in Byhalia, where she was a member.

Lillian
Puryear Wilson, 78, of Saulsbury, Tenn., formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died
June 25, 2012, at her home. A 1955 graduate of Blue Mountain College,
she was an English teacher for 28 years in Mississippi, Tennessee and
Texas. After moving to Saulsbury, in 1996, she was a fill-in teacher at
Bolivar Central High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church
in Middleton. Services were held June 28 at Shackelford Funeral Directors’ Middleton Chapel with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. She
leaves a daughter, Judith Ann Eckersley of Edmond, Okla.; a son, Harold
David Wilson of Saulsbury; a brother, George H. Puryear of Marrero,
La.; and two sisters, Sarah F. Minahan of Tampa, Fla., and Nancy Lynn
