A
global leader in the manufacture of stone wool insulation, used in
residential, commercial and industrial construction, is coming to the
Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park in Marshall County.
It
is the first manufacturing plant Roxul is locating in the United States
and the first major manufacturing facility to be built in the Chickasaw
park.

The
Marshall County Zoning Board said no Thursday to a proposed campground
and water slide on Highway 178, a few miles west of Holly Springs. Randall
Swaney asked permission to put a KOA-type campground and 67-foot-high
water slide on his property across from McAlexander Road and adjacent
to Highway 78 (future Interstate 22). The property is already zoned
commercial but zoning said he had to be granted a special exception for

Chase ends in Holly Springs By SUE WATSON Staff Writer Marshall
County deputies assisted DeSoto County officers in the apprehension of
four subjects Monday when a chase flowed over into Marshall County. Maj.
David Cook became aware of a pursuit by DeSoto County officers of a
gold Crown Victoria along Highway 178. Marshall and DeSoto patrol
units, K-9 officers and the DeSoto County helicopter were involved in
the pursuit of the vehicle into the Victoria area. The chase continued
along Victoria Road, south to Hernando Road and then into the city of

County wants bids on insurance at one time By SUE WATSON Staff Writer The
Marshall County Board of Supervisors voted recently to ask their
insurance agents to give the county a 30- to 45-day notice when
policies come up for renewal. Supervisors said
they want to look into bundling as many of the policies as possible and
have the renewal date come up in the summer months at the same time,

Forester of Holly Springs is the 2012 Miss Amory Railroad Festival.
Forester is a graduate student at Ole Miss with plans to graduate in
2013 with a degree in clinical mental health. Her undergraduate degree
was in psychology with a minor in theater. Her
life’s goal was changed in January 2006 while a junior at Marshall
Academy. The car she was riding in with friends was struck head-on by a
drunken driver near West (in Holmes County). Full Story
Byhalia police go to 31 calls The Byhalia Police Department responded to 31 calls during the past week. Chief
Gary Looney released the following report – alarm calls, 4;
miscellaneous, 12; escorts, 1; disturbances, 1; animals, 2; assists, 1;
and medical, 10. Byhalia police officers also made seven arrests during the past week.
