City police go
to 124 calls
• Officers make three felony arrests
Holly
Springs Police officers responded to 124 calls for the week, according
to interim police chief Lt. John Norman.
Calls
included the following – disturbances, 7; alarms, 16; larcenies, 3;
accidents, 2; assists to agencies, 4; domestic, 4; assaults, 5; funeral
escorts, 2; burglaries, 3; 911 hang-ups, 4; auto burglary, 1; checks on
shut-ins, 1; shots fired, 2; auto fire, 1; malicious mischief, 3;
gambling, 1; rape, 1; and 64 miscellaneous calls. The dog catcher
answered 21 calls.
Officers
took the following reports:
Monday,
June 11
•
disturbing the peace in the 100 block of West College Avenue.
•
domestic violence/simple assault in the 200 block of West Elder Avenue.
An arrest was made.
Tuesday,
June 12
•
rape in the 1300 block of Highway 4 East.
•
malicious mischief and simple assault in the 600 block of West Lake
Drive.
Wednesday,
June 13
•
simple assault in the 500 block of East Van Dorn. Charges were filed.
•
domestic violence/simple assault in the 100 block of West Woodward
Avenue. Arrests were made.
•
domestic violence/simple assault in the 100 block of Hurdle Circle.
Arrests were made.
Thursday,
June 14
•
residential burglary in the 200 block of East Valley Avenue.
•
commercial burglary in the 100 block of East Gholson Avenue.
•
grand larceny in the 100 block of Clarice Drive.
•
shoplifting in the 900 block of Mackie Drive.
•
domestic violence/simple assault in the 800 block of West Street.
Friday,
June 15
•
domestic violence/simple assault in the 400 block of Coopwood Drive.
Charges were filed.
Saturday,
June 16
•
auto burglary in the 100 block of Shadow Lane.
•
commercial burglary in the area of Highway 178 East.
Sunday,
June 17
•
shoplifting in the 900 block of Mackie Drive.
Felony
arrests
Chief
Norman reported the following felony arrests during the past week.
•
Daniel Woodson, 23, of the 200 block of West College Avenue, was
arrested and charged with grand larceny, he said.
•
Tammie M. Lesure, 37, of the 200 block of West Elder Avenue, was
arrested and charged with felony/credit card-intent to defraud, Norman
said.
•
Clyde Earl Brown, Jr., 21, of the 3200
block of Old Highway 4 West, was arrested and charged with possession
of marijuana with intent to sell, according to Chief Norman.
Other
citations
Officers
reported a citation for no tag/expired tag. Officers also reported
these misdemeanor arrests: contempt of court, 2; domestic
violence/simple assault, 6; and driving while license suspended, 1.
Dog

June
is the month for dog tag renewal in the city limits of Holly Springs.
