Mississippi high school students were invited to attend the second annual TBF Student Angler Federation High School Open Championship that was held on the Tennessee- Tombigbee Waterway, Columbus pool.
Students signed up via online registration at highschoolfishing.org to compete in the event.
Anglers were required to fish as teams in a “pick your partner” format tournament. Teams were limited to fish in the Columbus pool.
First -- Garrett Riles of Potts Camp and Warren Wilkinson, of Hickory Flat, 9.78 pounds.
Second – Justin Reynolds and Dylan Barnes, both of Parklane, 7.68 pounds.
Third – Blake Galloway and Dillon Easley, both of Houlka, 6.52 pounds.
Fourth – Lane Kemper and Hunter Gullick, both of Lewisburg, 5.78 pounds.
Fifth – Ty Cox and Joel Parker of Saltillo, 5.70 pounds.
Sixth – Cy Gatewood and Blake Lee, of Wiggins, 5.65 pounds.
Seventh – Avery Davis and Collin Pinter of Brandon, 1.77 pounds.
Congratulations to Garrett Riles and Warren Wilkinson for the victory. Both of the young men will be traveling to the Student Angler Federation regional championship to be held in conjunction with the FLW Collegiate World Championship in September.
