News Briefs‘Dream Big’ program available this summer The
Marshall County Library in Holly Springs, Potts Camp and Byhalia has
planned the Summer Library Program to keep children reading and
learning all summer. Parents can register their
children at any branch so they can enjoy storytime and crafts. The
theme this year is “Dream Big.” Children can follow their dreams as
they learn fun and exciting new things at the library. Every program is free and open to children of all ages. Refreshments will be served. • Potts Camp: Tuesdays – June 12, 19, 26 and July 10, 17, 24. • Holly Springs: Wednesdays – June 13, 20, 27 and July 11, 18, 25. • Byhalia: Fridays – June 15, 22, 29 and July 13, 20, 27. All programs start at 2 p.m. Portion of Mt. Carmel closed for 269 work Starting Monday of this week, Mt. Carmel Road (north of Goodman to Wingo) will be closed due to construction of Interstate 269. The closing will be for approximately six weeks, according to Keith Taylor, District 3 supervisor in Marshall County. Early deadlines set for next week’s paper The South Reporter announces early deadlines for its next edition due to the Memorial Day holiday. Deadline
for classified advertising is this Friday, May 25, at 12 noon. Deadline
for all other advertising, including legal notices, and all news items
is this Friday, May 25, at 5 p.m. The South Reporter offices will be closed Monday, May 28. Next week’s edition of the newspaper, dated Thursday, May 31, will be printed and distributed on the regular schedule. “We

deadlines.” Public meeting to focus on comprehensive plan There will be a public meeting Thursday, May 24, at 6 p.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building in Holly Springs. Bob
Barber, city planning consultant, will be in attendance to discuss the
revisions to the comprehensive plan and zoning ordinances for the City
of Holly Springs. Everyone is urged to attend this meeting.
