H.W. Byers kindergarten registration
As H.W. Byers Elementary students are preparing for kindergarten graduation, they are also getting ready for the new kindergarten class to come in and register.
Principal Chris Ferrell and Sabrina Holley, along with the other kindergarten teachers, Cheryl Hall and Debra Krahl, have announced the time for the pre-registration of the 2012-13 kindergarten class. It will be Thursday, May 24, from noon until 7 p.m. in front of the elementary office area.
To be eligible for kindergarten, the child must be 5 by September 1, 2012. Please bring the following items with you:
1) Child’s certified birth certificate (not mother’s copy);
2) Child’s Social Security card;
3) Child’s current 121 Form (This is the school’s copy of the child’s immunization record. You may get this from any Mississippi Health Department.)
On parent’s or legal guardian:
1) Current receipt of rent, lease or mortgage payment showing 911 address in parent’s/legal guardian’s name
2) Current electricity bill, gas bill, water or garbage of the same address in parent’s/legal guardian’s name.
Parents, even if your child attended Head Start, you must enroll him/her in kindergarten. Head Start does not pre-register your child for school. Also, if you cannot make the May 24 registration, there will be another registration prior to school’s start in early August.
