Carolyn Wilson Hoyt, 79, of Ashland, died May 13, 2012, at St. Francis
Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow of Robert Eric Hoyt Sr.,
her husband of 58 years. She retired from Oak Hall in Memphis after 35
years of service. Services were held at 2 p.m. on

Church, the oldest member of the mother board at the church and a
member of the community center choir. Services

7, 2012, at her home. She was the widow of Crawford Alphonso Lucas. She
was a retired teacher with Memphis City Schools after 30 years. Services
were held at 12 noon on May 11 at Temple of Love CME Church in Memphis,
where she was a member. Burial was in Chulahoma MB Church Cemetery.

Thomas Matthews, 81, of Batesville, formerly of Benton County, died May
8, 2012, at his home. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and church
trustee and a self-employed farmer. Services were

Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. She was a former employee of Sunbeam and
Woodcraft and a member of First Baptist Church of Potts Camp. Services
were held at 2 p.m. on May 13 at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley.
Burial was in New York Cemetery in Ripley. Bro. Paul Hicks officiated. She
