all now know who won’t be going to the Super Bowl just as much as we
don’t know exactly who will be going. This past weekend was truly
“Wildcard Weekend” and it advanced the winners of the last regular week
of the season (those which were eligible, of course) to the first
round. Just to refresh our memory, there are six teams from each

MA to honor title team from 1971 Marshall Academy will recognize the 1971 championship basketball team during special ceremonies January 27. The
players, their families and coaches are invited to return to MA as
special guests that evening when the Patriots host public school rival
Hickory Flat. A reception for the group will be
held in the cafeteria at 5 p.m. The varsity girls game will follow at
approximately 6 p.m. and the varsity boys game will immediately follow. Members
of the 1971 championship team will have special seating for the game,
and at halftime of the varsity boys game, they will be asked to come to
center court for the unveiling of a banner to commemorate their

Byhalia falls in district games By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor This
meeting Tuesday of last week was the third district game for the Lady
Indians and the fourth for the Charleston Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers had defeated three district foes prior to the contest with Byhalia. Their overall record was 11-2. Full Story
Indians earn honors Many Byhalia Indians have received post-season honors for their performances on the football field in 2011. Head
coach Markeith Washington said Andrey Collins headlined the list. The
junior, who rushed for more than 2,000 yards, was selected to the
