Smiths vacation at the beach

Hank Wheeler of Newnan, Ga., is the guest of Kay and Laura Wheeler. Laura had a procedure last week and is convalescing well at home.

Vivian and Eugene Smith recently returned from a relaxing few days at the beach. They travelled with his brother, Travis, and his wife, Jean.

Congratulations to the Marshall Academy Patriot baseball team! They swept the series last week and took River Oaks out Monday with a 6-2 victory. The boys travelled Wednesday down to River Oaks in Monroe, La., to hopefully cinch the wins in this series.

Congratulations to Marshall Academy seniors Chase Ferrell, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Elgin Lafever and Neil Murphy. They won North State 400 and 800 relay races Saturday in Greenville.

Congratulations to Zack Pritchett once again! He was runner up in the AA district golf match Monday, getting beaten by only one stroke. He advances to the state championship where his game is bound to be spot-on and he will bring home the top title!

Marcus Faulkner and Tiana Howell

Tiana Howell and Marcus Faulkner to wed May 12 at Oak Palace

Eddie and Terry Brown of Potts Camp and Windell Howell of Potts Camp are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Tiana V. Howell to Marcus A. Faulkner, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Warren of Lake Center.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Potts Camp High School and is employed with Caterpillar in Oxford.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Houston of Potts Camp, the late Billy Holden and the late Arnett Howell.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Potts Camp High School and is employed with Ashley Furniture in Ecru.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Lee Faulkner and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt Warren.

The wedding will be held at the Oak Palace in Holly Springs on May 12, 2012 at 4 p.m.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

Blake Johnson and Sarah Kelly of Nashville, Tenn., are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter, Evangeline Ailey, born April 13, 2012, in Nashville. She weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Welcoming Evy home is big sister Shaelin.

Paternal grandparents are Dawn Johnson of Laws Hill and Johnny Johnson of Little Rock, Ark.

Maternal grandparents are Teresa McNutt Story of Tennessee and Don Kelly of Georgia.
