May 4

• A special service will be held at the Comfort Suites Inn in Olive Branch on Parkwood Drive, 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Clinton Wilson. Program is sponsored by Kingdom Seekers Church of Byhalia.

• BIG YARD SALE and bake sale will be held at Wyatte Baptist Church, 30721 Hwy. 4 East, May 4-5. All proceeds are for our Operation Christmas Child Fund.

• Rummage sale, Watson Fire Dept., May 4-5, 8-2 p.m. Rain or shine! The proceeds go to the Watson Fire Dept. Building Fund. We are still in the same place, 121 Watson Road, next door to the Watson Fire Dept., at the old Watson Saddle Club.

• Fundraiser First Baptist Church of Byhalia, 2555 Church Avenue, mission trip fundraising yard sale, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

May 5

• 5K RUN/WALK The Town of Byhalia will have their 2nd annual 5K Run/Walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The run will begin at 9 a.m. at the gazebo on Brunswick. There is a $20 entry fee. Contact Town Hall for more details, 838-2135.

• LESSYE LEE DAVIS PARADE and activities will be held in Holly Springs beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the MI Campus. All schools, 4-H clubs, ball teams, dance teams, car clubs and cowboys are invited. For more information call 662-252-3232.

• BREAKFAST Christ New Beginning will be having a prayer breakfast, 8 a.m. Pastor Arthur Fitchpatrick will be our guest speaker.

• Carnival for a Cancer Cure will be held at Mt. Pisgah CME Church on Cayce Road, 12 noon. There will be lots of fun, food and games for all ages. This is our fund-raiser for American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

• APOSTOLIC FAITH WORKSHOP will be held at Bountiful Blessings Ministries, 28 Tyro Road, 10 a.m. Speaker will be Mae L. Palmer.

• FUND-RAISER The Victoria VFD fund-raiser will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Barbecue plates with hot wings, baked beans, French fries, slaw, dessert and drink will be available to eat in or take out for $7 a plate. Fire dues are due at this time. Annual dues can be made to the Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 88, Victoria, MS 38679.

• FELLOWSHIP The Divine Women of God of the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3193 Marianna Road under the leadership of Rev. Dr. R.J. Wilson, will have a women’s fellowship entitled “Women of the Bible,” 9 a.m.-12 noon. Brunch will be served.

• SINGING Mt. Calvary Church, 3993 Cayce Road, will have a gospel singing with the Hood Family from Ripley, 7 p.m. The public is invited.

• SINGING Chewalla Baptist Church will have their Saturday night singing with Still Blessed. Fellowship meal will be at 6 p.m., and singing at 7 p.m. Jimmy Curle is host pastor.

• CHURCH YARD SALE at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 3115 Old Pigeon Roost Road, 6 a.m.-10 a.m.

• Hooping 4 Life, Saturday, May 5, 11 a.m. at the Holly Springs Multi-Purpose Building, Memphis Street, Holly Springs. Several basketball teams will be playing! Greaters ballers in the Mid South! Proceeds will benefit the “Be the Match” Foundation. Contact Mary LeSueur for additional information. See you there!

• SINGING! Red Banks Baptist Church will host the trio N-HIM at 5 p.m. The church is located one mile north of Hwy. 78 at Exit 21. • ANNUAL HOMECOMING New Hope M.B. Church, Hwy. 310, Laws Hill, will have their annual homecoming at 2 p.m. Pastor William Woods Jr. and the East St. Peters M.B. Church from Abbeville will be the special guests. Dinner will be served.

• APPRECIATION Cornerstone Gospel Baptist Church, located in Byhalia, 57 Bubba Taylor Road, under the leadership of Pastor Norris Clark Sr. will be having their Pastor Appreciation, 2:30 p.m. Special guest will be Elder Hosea Wright from Zion Hill Community Church. Everyone is invited.

• CHOIR DAY will be held at Free Branch M.B. Church, 3 p.m. Pastor J.L. Tunstall invites everyone.

• CELEBRATION True Vine M.B. Church will have their annual Twelve Tribes of Israel Celebration at 2 p.m. Elder A. Allen and The New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries will be special guests. Rev. Darrell Cunningham is pastor. The church is located at 525 West Street.

• ANNIVERSARY Providence MB Church will celebrate their Pastor and Wife’s 12th anniversary at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Ronnie Franklin of Hebron MB Church. Everyone is invited. The church is located at 295 Withers Ave.

• Annual Choir Day will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, 2:30 p.m. Rev. Willie Hoey is pastor. Everyone is invited.

May 7

• The 143rd annual session of the HSMC Baptist Association will convene May 7-9 nightly at the Baptist Association Building at 6:45 p.m. nightly. Monday night, president Annie Spight will give her annual address. Ladies are to wear white. Tuesday night, Moderator Bowen will give his address and Wednesday night is youth night.

May 11

• BAKE SALE Beta Sigma Phi’s Annual Pre-Mother’s Day Bake Sale will be held in front of Century 21, on the square in Holly Springs beginning at 8 a.m. To pre-order a dessert call Tish at 551-0076; or Beth, 544-1816 or any other member. There will be delectable cakes, pies, homemade bread, pimento cheese and Mississippi caviar. All money raised will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Marshall County.

May 13

• Gospel explosion - Mother’s Night Out, presented by Betty Raimey, at Providence MB Church, Holly Springs, 6 p.m., with many guest groups. Admission is free, the public is invited. A free gift will be given to the youngest and oldest mothers present.

May 19

• FAMILY REUNION will be held at the Benton Co. Agri-Center, 10 a.m. until. Family names include: Allen, Skelton, Byrd, Feathers, Bolden, Wilson, Thompson, Smith, Yager, Yeager, Pannell, McClure, Holmes, Rhea and Watkins. If you are related, you are invited. Bring your favorite dish and old family photos. Please come; we look forward to seeing you there.

• Women’s Day St. Paul C.M.E. Church, Holly Springs, will have Women’s Day at 2:30 p.m. This program is sponsored by the Missionary Society. Rev. Doris Alexander and New Hope C.M.E. Church will be the guests. The public is invited. Rev. Tony Wilkins is pastor, Sis. Wanda McNeil is the missionary president. The theme is “Missionary Women on the Move for Christ.” Luke 9:1-6.
