Suspects arrested in shooting incident By SUE WATSON Staff Writer Marshall
County investigators made two arrests in connection with a disturbance
in the 3500 block of Bethlehem Road Sunday, according to sheriff Kenny
Dickerson. A call was made to 911 around 10:15
p.m., but when officers arrived suspects had left the scene. Shortly
after deputies left, 911 received a call reporting gunshots at the
house at the same address. When deputies arrived
the second time they got information from the victims on possible
suspects, the sheriff said. Officers located two suspects on Barber
Road. A .30-.30 rifle, thought to have been used in the shooting into the residence, was also recovered. Michael
Shane Westmoreland, 27, of Frayser Lane in Potts Camp, was arrested and
charged with one count of burglary and three counts of aggravated
assault, Dickerson said. He is in jail under $200,000 bond. Bradley
Neil Johnson, 22, of the 2900 block of Potts Camp Road, was also
arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and is currently
out on bond, he said. In a separate case,
investigators continue to seek leads and information that would lead to
the arrest of suspect(s) in an aggravated assault-arson incident at 321
Hurdle Club Road April 11. Charles Hardeman, a Byers High School
junior, remains in stable but critical condition at The Med in Memphis,
Tenn. Anyone with information regarding this case
is urged to call investigators at 662-252-1311. Callers may remain
anonymous. Their identities will be kept in strict confidence.
