MA athletes move on to north meet

Some Marshall Academy Patriots and Lady Patriots will be moving on to the North State Track Meet after success at district last week.

Both the boys and girls finished third in the overall team standings – the Pats trailing first-place Carroll and runner-up Indianola and the Lady Pats behind champion Indianola and second-place Carroll.

The top four from district in individual events will compete at north half in Greenville this week.

Boys

• Shot put – third, Josh Petree, 33-05.50.

• Discus – third, Kirby Jones, 103-00; fourth, Neil Murphy, 94-04.

• Long jump – first, Kevin Fitzpatrick, 19-06; fourth, Elgin Lafever, 17-03.50.

• Triple jump – second, Kevin Fitzpatrick, 40-03.50.

• 300 meter hurdles – second, Andy Burleson, 48.20.

• 800 meter relay – first, Chase Ferrell, Neil Murphy, Elgin Lafever, Tucker Fant, 1:40.97.

• 400 meter relay – second, Chase Ferrell, Elgin Lafever, Neil Murphy, Tucker Fant, 47.50.

• 110 meter hurdles – first, Andy Burleson, 19.39.

• 100 meter dash – second, Elgin Lafever, 11.86; third, Neil Murphy, 12.55.

• 1600 meter run – fourth, Chase Ferrell, 5:49.63.

• 400 meter dash – fourth, Randy Love, 1:02.78.

• 200 meter dash – first, Elgin Lafever, 23.72; fourth, Neil Murphy, 25.41.

• 1600 meter relay – second, Andy Burleson, Randy Love, Neil Murphy, Chase Ferrell, 4:04.63.

Girls

• 300 meter hurdles – second, Wesleyann Ray, 57.69; third, Elizabeth Skelton, 58.80.

• 800 meter relay – third, Maura Autry, Wesleyann Ray, Elizabeth Skelton, Kat Moore, 2:02.88.

• 400 meter relay – third, Kat Moore, Wesleyann Ray, Elizabeth Skelton, Maura Autry, 58.80.

• 100 meter dash – fourth, Kat Moore, 14.79.

The North State Track Meet will be held at Washington School.
