ObituariesRobert Allen Barnes Robert Allen Barnes, 56, of Ward, Ark., died April 2, 2012. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on April 9 at Victoria Heights Baptist Church in
Victoria. Hernando Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves a son, Brandon Barnes (Jessica); sisters, Tina Davis, Dena
Whittington, Linda Barnes-Mullins, Tabitha Barnes, Bobbie Oswalt,
Glenda Crockett; brothers Victor Harold Barnes, Troy Barnes; and a
grandson. He was preceded in death by brothers Floyd Douglas Barnes and Charles Eugene Barnes. Curtis Alexander Hollowell Curtis
Alexander Hollowell, 93, of Waterford, died April 3, 2012, at VA
Nursing Home in Oxford. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in
Memphis, Tenn., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korean War, and
retired from U.S. government civil service. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on April 7 at Hamilton Chapel CME Church in
Waterford. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. LaDaryl Odum
officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. He leaves two children, Curtis
Hollowell Jr., Charles Hollowell, both of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters,
Delois Lavell, Vivian Fields, both of Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers,
William Hollowell of Waterford, Winston Hollowell, Albert Hollowell
Jr., both of Cleveland; seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings Sylvester Hollowell, Hannah Hollowell and Joseph Hollowell. Mary Patricia Holbrook Mary
“Pat” Patricia Holbrook, 79, of Myrtle, died April 7, 2012, at the
North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was the widow of Royce
Lee Moody. Services were held at 2 p.m. on April
10 at Macedonia Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in
the Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Billy Lee Foley officiated. United Funeral
Service in New Albany was in charge of arrangements. She
leaves two daughters Becky Hancock (Jimmy), Pam McClatchy (Chuck);
three sons, Rodney Moody (Mary), Ricky Moody, Jimmy Moody; six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Holbrook Jr., James Robert (Bud) Holbrook. Pallbearers were Ray Moody, Michael McClatchy, Jeff Hancock, Thad Moody, Damon Ligon and Terry Wade. Robert Lee Honer Robert Lee Honer, 47, died March 25, 2012. He was a construction worker. Services
were held at 12 noon on April 4 at Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red
Banks. Rev. S.A. Phillips and elder Curtis Pritchard officiated. Burial
was in the church cemetery. He leaves two
sisters, Pearlie Honer of Byhalia, Linzola of Pontiac, Mich.; three
brothers, Clyde Honer, Earnest, both of Byhalia, Willie Hughes of
Memphis, Tenn.; his godmother, Hazel Bowen of Holly Springs. He was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Honer; and stepmother, Marie C. Jones. Pallbearers
were Bobby Moore, Larry Smith, Kelvin Malone, Casey Johnson, Conelius
Pitchard and Clifton Aldridge. Honorary pallbearers Bryson Honer,
Earnest Honer, Clyde Honer, Robert Honer, Jamal Honer and Antwan Honer.
Neil Johnson Stroupe
Neil
Johnson Stroupe, 79, of Holly Springs, died April 8, 2012, in Holly
Springs. He was the widower of Patricia Ferrell Stroupe. He was a
member of the Church of Christ, owner and operator of Stroupe Feed Mill
and an Air Force veteran. Graveside services
were held at 2 p.m. on April 10 at Ashland Cemetery. Holly Springs
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves a son, Eric Stroupe (Josephine) of Holly Springs; a daughter,
Stephanie Stroupe of Cordova, Tenn.; two brothers, Garlon Stroupe of
Ripley, Hal Stroupe of Holly Springs; three sisters, Grace Floyd of
Ashland, Sandra Graves of Ripley; Brenda Williams of Southaven; and
