Lady Cards win two The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals hosted their first home game of the season in fast pitch softball Tuesday, March 20. The Lady Cards were taking on the Ingomar Lady Falcons. The weather was great and both teams had a great turnout of fans. Taking
the mound for the Lady Cardinals was Kayla Yarbrough. Playing behind
the plate was Megan Watkins. During the first two innings the Lady
Cardinals did not let the Lady Falcons score. At the end of the second,
the score was 4-0. The third inning brought new
life to the game for Ingomar. The Lady Falcons scored in the next three
innings. This put the Lady Cardinals down by one run. They trailed 8-7. In
the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Cardinals got their heads back
in the game. They scored four runs in the sixth. The Lady Falcons had
been able to score one run that inning. In the seventh inning, Ingomar did not score, ending the game with another victory for the Lady Cardinals. The final was 11-9. Yarbrough
ended the night with nine strikeouts. Scoring for the Lady Cardinals
were M. Watkins, K. Yarbrough, Hayley Davis, Taylor Childress, Jakayla
Johnson and Shelby Davis. Hickory Flat Friday
afternoon, the Lady Cardinals hosted their second home game of the
week. This was their first division game. The game was moved to Potts
Camp because of field trouble due to rain for Hickory Flat. The
Lady Cardinals took the field at 5 p.m. ready to play ball. The Hickory
Flat Rebels were up to bat first, facing K. Yarbrough, pitcher for the
Lady Cardinals, with M. Watkins behind the plate. The
first three innings of the game found both the Potts Camp Lady Cards
and the Hickory Flat Lady Rebels with a score of 0-0. In the bottom of
the fourth, the Lady Cards decided they wanted to score, going up 3-0. The
Lady Rebels were unable able to get their bats going. The game went
five innings with Potts Camp scoring seven runs in the fifth inning.

Those
scoring for Potts Camp Lady Cardinals were M. Watkins, K. Yarbrough, H.
Davis, Johnson, Destiny Waddle, Briana Cheatwood, Shauna Haney and S.
Davis. Yarbrough ended the game with 10 strikeouts. Following
the varsity game, the junior varsity squad played its second game of
the season. Starting pitcher for the Potts Camp Lady Cards was M.
Watkins, with Childress behind the plate. The
first inning ended with a knotted score of 3-3. The second inning left
the Hickory Flat Lady Rebels not scoring. It was a different story for
the Potts Camp Lady Cardinals; they ended the second inning with 12
runs. The third inning brought a new pitcher, Kayla Brown, to the mound for the Lady Cardinals. Hickory Flat came back, deciding to play ball, and scored 11 runs. Potts Camp went on win the game 15-14. Scoring
for Potts Camp were Lakin Tillman, Kamrie Potts, Brown, Childress,
Kaylin Skelton, Cheatwood, Hayden Wilkerson and Anna Summerlin. Monday,
the Potts Camp Cardinals visited Calhoun City for their second division
game. Thursday, March 29, Potts Camp will play its third division game
with Bruce coming to town at 5 p.m. This Friday and Saturday, Potts
Camp will play in the Southaven Tournament.
