The big headline at the top read – “Be A Holly Shopper.”

The emphasis was on staying at home and shopping locally – in Holly Springs and Marshall County.

Waiting on baby Evy

Sister (my niece Dawn) and I drove to Nashville Sunday for a baby shower.

I’m mostly recovered from the tumble off the ladder -- except for coughing constantly with the “crud” that everyone has, which makes my bruised ribs really ache.

My great-nephew Blake, 25, and his Sarah are expecting their first baby really soon. Hence the baby shower.

The linden tree – in Holly Springs, a city of trees

Last time I wrote about the yew tree in Hill Crest Cemetery. While on the subject of trees, let me say a word about another interesting tree you’ll see around Holly Springs – the lindens. Here is another interesting Holly Springs story.

I got interested in the story while making a trip to St. Louis last summer with my friend Frank Brooks, a retired Presbyterian minister who lives in Corinth. (He’s Betty Knight’s cousin-in-law!)

Help find family
To Whom it May Concern:

I am trying to locate a family member and need your help. I have been searching for him for a while now and cannot seem to locate him.

I am looking for Jerry Lee Blazier born on October 29. He is approximately 54 years old and the son of Johnnie Ellen Green Blazier and Henry Calvin Blazier.

I believe he is still in Mississippi and possibly the Byhalia, Pearl or Victoria area. He was working for a construction company in Victoria in 2008.

If you know him or any of his relatives, please contact Brandi at 318-381-1625 or William at 318-372-7738.

We have been searching for him for many years so any information you could provide would be helpful.
