Playing four baseball games in less than 24 hours turned out to be a tall task for Marshall Academy last week. The Patriots went 1-3 against much larger public schools Tuesday and Wednesday in the Oxford Spring Break Tournament.

Jones of Byhalia had an outstanding freshman basketball season for the
Northwest Community College Rangers. He was a first team
All-Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges selection.
Jones averaged 8.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5
steals-per-game and scored in double figures in seven of the final 14
games. He had two 20-point games, including a career-high 25 versus
Arkansas Baptist on January 12. The former Byhalia Indian played in all
24 games, earning the start in 17. He shot 38 percent from the floor
and 32 percent from three-point range. The Rangers finished 12-12
overall and 7-5 in north division play (third). |

edition of March Madness, there is ample opportunity for bushels of it.
The fame tag is pursued relentlessly in the early round of the NCAA
Tournament. The low seeded teams set their sights on sending a
high-seeded team on an early vacation. The lower the number the higher

USA Track and Field certified course is a challenging one in the
downtown Holly Springs area – including a hill through the historic

Life jacket policy successful The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lakes in Mississippi will continue to implement the mandatory wearing of a life jacket. A
U.S. Coast Guard life jacket test program was initiated in May 2009 to
determine if more stringent life jacket wear requirements would improve
wear rates and decrease the number of water-related fatalities. Full Story

struggling offensively and defensively,” said Jermaine Johnson, in his
first season as head coach. “We’re in a building process. There are a
