Three Potts Camp athletes will compete in the state powerlifting meet April 13 and 14 at Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson. Advancing
are Wayne McGee, 242 lb. weight class; Megan Watkins, 132 lb. weight
class; and Janesha Reynolds, 198 lb. weight class.  | Girls 132 lb. weight class

The Potts Camp powerlifting program is in its third year. “We
were independent for the first two years and this is the first year to
be in a division,” coach Mike Bush said. “We have a very young team and
I’m pleased with their progress.” There is one senior on the boys team and no seniors on the girls team.  | Boys 242 lb. weight class

The
following boys competed in regionals (with their weight class and
grade) – Kaleb Reid, 123 lbs., freshman; Caleb Smith, 148 lbs., seventh
grade; Jordon C. Harris, 148 lbs., freshman; Marquis Johnson 165 lbs.,
senior; Quinn Massengill, 181 lbs., freshman; Wayne McGee, 242 lbs.,
sophomore; and Shunn Smith, 242 lbs., sophomore. Competing at north state were Caleb Smith, Jordon C. Harris, Marquis Johnson, Quinn Massengill and Wayne McGee. The
girls did not have regionals. The following girls competed in north
state (with third weight class and grade) – Lindzy Bradford, 114 lbs.,
seventh grade; Sierra Currie, 114 lbs., junior; Megan Watkins, 132
lbs., junior; Briana Cheatwood, 148 lbs., sophomore; Taylor Childress,
165 lbs., eighth grade; and Janesha Reynolds, 198 lbs., sophomore.
