The following Marshall County residents were recently initiated into the University of Mississippi’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines:
David LaVerle Cook, senior/criminal justice, of Potts Camp; Tamara Lynese Hillmer, master’s/educational leadership, of Waterford. Phi Kappa Phi membership is based on a student’s sound character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5 percent of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10 percent of their class.
