City seeks funds for sewer project

The Holly Springs mayor and board of aldermen are entertaining the idea of a very large sewer treatment project which mayor Andre’ DeBerry says will lay the foundation for growth not just in the city, but countywide.

• Snow, ice cause rash of minor accidents

This photo of traffic mishaps was taken about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, on Highway 78 near the Holly Springs exit.

Marshall County was blanketed by from three to five inches of snow, Wednesday afternoon and evening, according to Larry Hall, county administrator/road manager. Some areas may have gotten six inches, he said.

Deputies make drug arrests

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigators made seven drug-related arrests, two arrests for burglary and completed a sweep for unregistered sex offenders last week, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

Police investigate stolen cars; two found

Holly Springs police officers took 86 calls last week, according to chief Robert Pearson.

Those included – disturbances, 10; assaults, 2: alarms, 9; burglaries, 2; accidents, 7; fights, 3; larcenies, 1; medical and assists to sheriff’s office, 4; domestics, 1; auto theft, 4; shots fired, 1; loud music, 1; welfare check, 1; and miscellaneous, 40.
