Potts Camp boys down district foes

Potts Camp wrapped up the regular season last week with a sweep and split.
The Cardinals and Lady Cardinals will compete in the Region 2-1A Tournament this week at Myrtle as the fourth and third seeds, respectively.
Potts Camp teams turned back district foe Blue Mountain on Monday of last week.
The Cardinals rallied for a 63-60 win.
Three players scored in double digits – Allen Robinson with 18, Kris Roberts with 16 and Tyree Jones with 14.
Potts Camp trailed 44-42 after three periods but pulled it out in the fourth.
Tenesha Woods blistered the nets for 34 points as the Lady Cardinals knocked off Blue Mountain 63-53.
Their lead was 27-16 at the halfway point.
Zana Davis contributed 10 points for the winners.
The Cardinals pulled off a huge win Tuesday, Feb. 1. They defeated district opponent Myrtle 73-59 at home.
Balanced scoring was again a key. Robinson gunned in 20 points. T. Jones followed with 18 and Javaughn Jones had 14.
The Potts Camp boys led by six at the half. They outscored Myrtle 25-16 in the fourth period.
The Potts Camp girls fell behind Myrtle, one of the top-ranked teams in the state, 21-8 early and went on to lose 72-46.
Scoring in double figures for the Lady Cards were Z. Davis with 17, Hayley Davis with 13 and Woods with 10.
The girls enter the tournament 11-15 overall and 6-4 in the region. The boys enter at 8-17 and 4-6.
The Cardinals and Lady Cardinals played Blue Mountain Tuesday in round one.
