Arrests made in burglaries
By SUE WATSON
Marshall County deputies made arrests and recovered stolen property in two burglaries in December, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
In the first case, Arthur James Dunlap Jr., 18, of Valley View Circle, was arrested December 18 and charged with the burglary of a residence in the 200 block of St. Paul Road, the sheriff said. A second suspect, John Alexander Sedgwick, 17, of the 13000 block of Holly Springs Road in Byhalia, was also arrested and charged with burglary in the same incident.
Sedgwick is being treated as an adult in this case because he has been adjudicated and charged as an adult in a pending aggravated assault case in DeSoto County, the sheriff said.
Dickerson said all items stolen from the residence were recovered at Dunlap’s residence. The burglary was reported Saturday, Dec. 17, about 3:30 p.m. Both suspects are in jail held on $10,000 bond.
In a second burglary incident, Miccah Jarad Bumpus, 18, of the 100 block of Rossville Road, Holly Springs, was arrested December 10 and charged with burglary of a residence in the Byhalia area, the sheriff said. Multiple items were taken, some of which were recovered and some returned to the homeowner.
Bumpus is being held under bond at the county jail.
