Fitts Beswick, a native of Byhalia, 105, died Nov. 30, 2011, at
Kennington Pointe Retirement Home in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow
of George Robert Beswick. She graduated from Byhalia High School in
1922, from Mississippi State College for Women in 1927 and the
Cleveland Music Conservatory in 1928. She began her teaching career in
Cleveland, Ohio, and after teaching at several schools, retired to
Collierville, Tenn., in 1985. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s
Episcopal Church in Collierville, the ADK Sorority for Women Educators,
The American Association of University Women, The Colonial Dames, The
Daughters of the American Revolution, the Chattanooga Music Society and
the Byhalia Garden Club. Graveside
services were held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 3 at Byhalia Cemetery.

leaves her goddaughter, Kate Page Korp of Sarasota, Fla.; nephews
William D. Fitts, III Thomas D. Fitts Jr.; a niece who cared for her in

Anthony
M. “Tony” Bingham, 34, of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of Elwood, Ind.,
and Potts Camp, died Dec. 5, 2011, at Riverview Hospital in
Noblesville, Ind. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the
Iraq War. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9
at Dunnichay Funeral Home Chapel in Elwood. Burial was in the Sunset

Estell Boone, 91, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 8, 2011, at Landmark
DeSoto Nursing Home in Horn Lake. She was the widow of Richard Minor

at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Moscow, Tenn., where she was a member.

System. She was the president of the choir, a member of the usher
board, a church secretary and a cafeteria worker with H.W. Byers School. Services

Jones III, 62, of Memphis, Tenn., died Dec. 6, 2011, at Methodist
University Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity, Inc. and Melrose Booster Club. He was a package handler
with Fed Ex Hub for 30 years. Services were

Edward Howell-Mckinney, 57, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 26, 2011. He
was a member of New Hope CME Church in Hollly Springs. He was

Lerone Short Sr., 37, of Holly Springs, formerly of Sardis, died Dec.
6, 2011, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of
Jehovah’s Witness and disabled. Services were
